walk, run, believe…

Somewhere in Kabale, Uganda

There’s no such thing as a journey that never ends…It’s just the uncertainty of how the journey will eventually end that drives us crazy.

Sometimes I wish we somehow had a way of seeing the future, seeing how it all ends…but then again, that would take the fun out of it. We would never appreciate the now if we knew the end was going to be terrible; we would end up getting so worried about it (the end). Likewise, if we knew the end was better than the now, we still wouldn’t appreciate the now because we’d take it for granted assured of the better end.

At work today, my colleague randomly asked me whether I knew the bible verse that talked about God’s hand not being so short……we both knew it existed but couldn’t figure out where it was on our own (don’t judge, we do read our bibles) so anyhow, we googled it.

Isaiah 59

Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.

Just like a road trip; long, tiring and sometimes uncomfortable and frustrating….life is; but when you have your hope & trust in the one who made the future…whatever direction you face, whatever detours you make, it’s all part of the plan. The destination is usually (always) worth the journey and every experience along the way.
